About Al-Babtain

Established in 1955, Al-Babtain Power & Telecommunication Co., based in Saudi Arabia, that designs, manufactures and supplies transmission and telecommunication tower structures for the domestic and international markets. The Company's products include poles, masts, lighting and panel boards, towers, steel structures and pipes. Al-Babtain Power & Telecommunication Co. operates factories in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Cairo, Egypt. It owns 97% of Al-Babtain Power and Telecommunication Company - Egypt, a company engaged in the production of poles and towers and a further 51% of Al-Babtain LeBlanc Telecommunication Systems Limited, which is specialized in providing telecommunication tower and frequency surveys, civil site surveys, new tower and civil works engineering, drafting services as well as other related activities. The Company also owns a galvanizing plant located in the second industrial city in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a production capacity of 50,000 tons per year.

Communication Strategy

The Intranet web application structure would enable each authenticated visitors with the complete statistical part of the Al-Babtain company. They will be able to access the desired part of the relevant information, enhanced search tool would help them to jump to the part of information they seek for. Search can be performed using the different criteria, chosen from the Application itself. It will help out the users to store and retrieve information much easier than that of doing it on papers and same information can be available within fraction of second to any user sitting worldwide. Users will have its own section on the Application which would not be accessible to other users to avoid the perplexity of the information available and hosted. It would improve the performance to a great level as electronic medium is much faster than any other medium used and would serve as MIS handler. o make the Application information centric and relevant source of information for all the department of corporation, without baffling up all the sections, users and their uploaded information in their particular area was a challenging and primary goal for us.

The Intranet Web Application will prove itself as a central file sharing system for the users, which will ensure the availability of the information, report for the specific use by any authenticated users to match up the standards. It would cut the cost as it will be used as a single method for information sharing, sales will be improved as facts will be available to the designated departments and users, and above all it can be monitored timely for effective and positive developments in the corporation.

Target Audience

Al-Babtain Corporate Intranet's target audience includes the authenticated users and internal staff. These individuals will visit application in order to submit and collect a variety of information and reports for the specific use. Visitors may or may not upload the information, report in a particular section. To make the Application information centric and relevant source of information for all the department of corporation, without baffling up all the sections, users and their uploaded information in their particular area. was a challenging and primary goal for us.

Results 

The Intranet Web Application developed has dedicated area for the user to store and retrieve the information, it does not permit other user to enter/view the other user's area or information which makes it secure for them. It saves both cost and time by replacing the other mediums used for the information exchange. As the information is centrally available and system has the capability to store large data files, authenticated users need not to communicate in person which saves in terms of efforts and improves performance. It is also used as monitoring tool, which can check the time bound delivery of desired information. It is much flexible in information uploading as that can be uploaded into the desired section to avoid confusion. Search tool is much powerful which enables user to get the desired result on the basis of date, link level and Title. It is used as a single resource of information by various departments and entitled user for respective purpose with ease of access and availability
